Fresh Cranberry Salsa

3 cups fresh cranberries, washed and drained
1 apple, peeled and cored
1/4 cup red onion, chunked
1 jalapeno pepper, minced
6 tbsp. sugar
4 tbsp fresh cilantro, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
dash of lime juice
dash of salt
  1. Pulse cranberries, apple and onion in a food processor until coarsely shredded.
  2. Combine the cranberry mixture, jalapeno pepper and sugar in a medium bowl. Let stand for 15 minutes to macerate.
  3. Add cilantro, garlic, lime juice, and salt to taste.
  4. Chill for 1 hour to allow the flovors to blend. Serve with tortilla chips.
